14% of Kansans live in poverty.

In 2014 Dr. Benton Johnson presented information on childhood poverty to Topeka service providers.  He shared the following definition:

Poverty is a chronic and debilitating condition that results from multiple adverse synergistic risk factors and affects the mind, body and soul”. (Jensen, 2009)
